Road Movie: Korean-Japanese Art Since 1945

로드 무비: 1945년 이후 한·일 미술

Co-organized with the Yokohama Museum of Art to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Korea-Japan diplomatic relations, this exhibition traces 80 years of artistic exchange between the two nations since 1945. Drawing on the metaphor of the road movie—where travel becomes transformation through unexpected encounters—it explores how Korean and Japanese artists built creative bridges across borders amid periods of liberation, division, and geopolitical tension. The exhibition highlights not only official exchanges but also personal networks and informal solidarities, revealing how artistic dialogue has been marked by discontinuities, misunderstandings, and asymmetries that enriched rather than hindered mutual understanding.

Check opening hours on the museum's official site

  2. 2

Book a time slot for the most popular exhibitions

The most anticipated temporary exhibitions sometimes limit access to online time-slot reservations, especially on weekends.
