22nd Rural Madangguk Grand Festival
제22회 농촌우수마당극큰잔치
Unlike most festivals centered on cities, the Rural Madangguk Grand Festival brings arts directly to culturally underserved rural communities, while increasingly welcoming urban visitors. Over three days from September 4-6, 2026, Choseong Hanggung hosts traditional madangguk performances, folk theater, and collective games where performers and spectators share the stage together. The program features Yukchin-nori, Namdo pansori, Tongyeong O-gwangdae and contemporary pieces, alongside hands-on activities such as face painting, hanbok try-ons, calligraphy, lantern-making and natural dyeing.
