Gaya's Trading Port: Hyeondong, Changwon (Working Title)
가야의 무역항, 창원 현동(가제)
Who inhabited the coastal village of Hyeondong in Changwon? This 2026 special exhibition explores this question through the results of excavations at the Hyeondong archaeological site, where over 900 tombs from the Three Kingdoms period have been discovered. Approximately 800 objects are displayed, from boat-shaped pottery evoking maritime activities to everyday utensils, traces of production and exchange. Far from focusing on prestige items, this exhibition directs attention to ordinary things that reveal the fabric of Gaya daily life. Each simple and familiar object tells a story, allowing a new and more intimate discovery of this kingdom.
