The Myeongyang Great Victory Festival commemorates the 1597 naval battle where Admiral Yi Sun-shin and Korean forces achieved an unprecedented global victory against Japanese naval forces at the Uldo Strait. Held annually since 2008, this regional heritage festival celebrates patriotic spirit and military ingenuity. The event features a spectacular digital reconstruction of the battle using cutting-edge multimedia technology, naval and terrestrial parades, and live performances. Illuminated monuments, ceremonial lantern displays, historical archives, augmented reality experiences, and interactive workshops on military uniforms and traditional Korean music instruments offer visitors an immersive experience of the battle and the strategic brilliance of General Yi.
