삼랑성역사문화축제

The Samrangseong fortress, surrounding Jeondeungsa Temple, holds profound historical significance in Korea's past. According to legend, it was built by Dangun's three sons to protect against foreign invasions. During the Mongol invasions of the 13th century, it became a stronghold of Korean resistance, and later witnessed victories against French and Japanese forces in the 17th and 19th centuries. The festival honours this heritage with an opening ceremony and autumn concert, academic seminars, traditional tightrope performances and mask theatre, alongside a flea market, food vendors and interactive cultural experiences.
