The National Museum of Korea Art (Seoul Branch) is a museum that focuses on contemporary art of the present era. Following the opening of the Gwacheon Branch in 1986 and the Deoksugung Palace Branch in 1998, the Seoul Branch, which opened in 2013, is located on the site where the Soggyeoksa, Jongjinbu, Gyujanggak, and Saganwon, all administrative buildings of the Joseon Dynasty, once stood. Built by introducing the concept of "courtyard," the National Museum of Korea Art (Seoul Branch) is designed as a space where everyone can enjoy and relax. The interior and exterior of the building are organically connected, and the design harmonizes with the surrounding attractions. The National Museum of Korea Art (Seoul Branch) is a comprehensive arts and culture center equipped with various facilities, including exhibition halls, a digital information room, a multimedia hall, and a cinema, where exhibitions of contemporary Korean art and exhibitions combining new media are held.
