Art Bank 20th Anniversary Special Exhibition 'The Future Returned: The Manifestation of Form and Thought'

미술은행 20주년 특별전 «돌아온 미래: 형태와 생각의 발현»

This special exhibition celebrates two decades of the Art Bank as a major partner in Korean contemporary art. Held at the National Museum of Contemporary Art, Cheongju, it examines how artistic ideas and forms have evolved through more than 50 experimental and innovative works from the collection. The exhibition unfolds in three sections: the first explores how past artistic aspirations manifest in the present; the second, the Archive, presents 50 frequently loaned works and 10 rare pieces from storage; the third, drawing on archival materials, reimagines past public projects and exhibitions through fresh perspectives. This retrospective underscores how the Art Bank has contributed to the expansion and evolution of contemporary Korean art.

🎟️ How to bookOfficial museum site

  1. 1

Check opening hours on the museum's official site

Many Korean national museums close one day a week, often Mondays — worth checking before you make the trip.

  2. 2

Book a time slot for the most popular exhibitions

The most anticipated temporary exhibitions sometimes limit access to online time-slot reservations, especially on weekends.

  3. 3

    Permanent collections are often free

Only certain special or temporary exhibitions charge admission — the permanent collection itself is free to enter at most national museums.

  4. 4

Book ahead for groups or guided tours

School groups and guided tours generally need to be booked directly with the museum ahead of the visit.
