Donghae Mureung Festival
동해 무릉제
The 39th Donghae Mureung Festival, running September 17-20, 2026, celebrates the region's traditional heritage and contemporary culture. The program features mountain and harvest ceremonies, shared-generation concerts, local music competitions, youth dance festival, military and folk performances including Mangsang farmers' dance and Bukpyeong community plays. Visitors enjoy the « Donghae Taste Bite » culinary challenge featuring local restaurant specialties, along with traditional craft workshops, folk games, wellness experiences, and family-friendly marine and sports activities. The festival grounds illuminate nightly with blue lantern tunnels, creating an immersive festive atmosphere that brings together tradition, regional arts, and local cuisine.
