함양산삼축제
Hamyang's wild ginseng, cultivated in germanium-rich soil above 500 meters elevation, is renowned for exceptional quality: dense tissue and high saponin content. A ginseng traceability system—Korea's first—allows consumers to know exact origins. Typically held in September or October in Hamyang's thousand-year-old Sangnim Park, the festival combines direct purchases, hands-on experiences like ginseng digging and auctions, and musical performances celebrating the history of wild ginseng foragers. Games, activities, food zones serving local specialties and homemade pancakes, and flea markets enrich the experience for families and enthusiasts.
