In December 2026, the National Buyeo Museum will reopen its permanent exhibition hall with a comprehensive renovation after 12 years. This major redesign aims to present the history and culture of Baekje of Sabi in a more immersive way and to comprehensively trace cultural developments in the Buyeo region from prehistory through antiquity. The renovated gallery consists of three sections: the Baekje of Sabi Hall, the Songgukriri Culture Hall, and the Donated Cultural Heritage Hall. The Baekje of Sabi Hall explores the evolution of the royal capital over 123 years, including urban formation and expansion, daily life of residents, and the flourishing of Sabi culture as a center of East Asian cultural exchange. The Songgukriri Culture Hall focuses on this emblematic Bronze Age site, enabling deeper understanding of prehistoric culture formation on the Korean peninsula. The Donated Cultural Heritage Hall showcases acquisitions through donation, particularly from Professor Bak Man-sik.
