Revisiting Constitution Day
다시 보는 제헌절
This special exhibition commemorating the 78th anniversary of Constitution Day runs from July 16 to October 11, 2026, and examines the formation of Korea's Constitution and its significance. On May 10, 1948, the nation's first democratic general election took place, with 95.5% voter turnout resulting in 198 elected representatives. The constitutional draft, carefully deliberated by the Constitutional Drafting Committee and revised three times in general assemblies, received unanimous parliamentary approval. Promulgated on July 17, 1948, this date was designated as a national holiday the following year. The exhibition traces these founding moments and reaffirms the values of democratic constitutionalism.
