The Sites of Do Ho Suh

서도호의 현장들

The National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art presents a documentary screening program exploring Do Ho Suh's artistic world. The films showcase his site-specific installations around the globe and collaborative works that interweave spaces and communities. Audiences witness the creation and installation processes of his public art projects, including the Gem Hotel in Korea, the monumental bronze sculpture Karma at the Albright-Knox Museum in Buffalo, and ambitious architectural interventions. The program also features his translucent fabric houses and his ongoing exploration of traditional Korean architecture through his moving house concept. Two films by anthropologist-filmmaker Hugh Brody examine his recent Bridge Project, which imagines a house spanning Seoul, New York, and London above the Arctic Ocean, reflecting on notions of home, displacement, and climate change.

🎟️ How to book — Official museum site

  1. 1

Check opening hours on the museum's official site

Many Korean national museums close one day a week, often Mondays — worth checking before you make the trip.

  2. 2

Book a time slot for the most popular exhibitions

The most anticipated temporary exhibitions sometimes limit access to online time-slot reservations, especially on weekends.

  3. 3

    Permanent collections are often free

Only certain special or temporary exhibitions charge admission — the permanent collection itself is free to enter at most national museums.

  4. 4

Book ahead for groups or guided tours

School groups and guided tours generally need to be booked directly with the museum ahead of the visit.
