Museum Threshold Project: Roa Wajung

미술관 길목 프로젝트 : 로와정

This project extends the museum's physical boundaries by transforming exterior spaces and everyday passages into sites of artistic encounter. Artist Roa Wajung presents two works: an installation titled "Passage" at the museum's entrance featuring embroidered panels in colored threads arranged at varying heights and angles, and a video work "Still Life" displayed on the building's external media canvas. Both pieces encourage visitors to observe familiar spaces with new attention to movement, perspective, and environmental change. The installation employs mirrors to convert abstract imagery into readable text, while the video overlays Cheongju landscapes onto embroidered mosquito netting, creating visual poetry where stillness and motion coexist.

🎟️ How to book — Official museum site

  1. 1

Check opening hours on the museum's official site

Many Korean national museums close one day a week, often Mondays — worth checking before you make the trip.

  2. 2

Book a time slot for the most popular exhibitions

The most anticipated temporary exhibitions sometimes limit access to online time-slot reservations, especially on weekends.

  3. 3

    Permanent collections are often free

Only certain special or temporary exhibitions charge admission — the permanent collection itself is free to enter at most national museums.

  4. 4

Book ahead for groups or guided tours

School groups and guided tours generally need to be booked directly with the museum ahead of the visit.
