Since 1966, the Seorak Cultural Festival has celebrated Sokcho's identity centered on Seorak Mountain, blending local heritage with contemporary participation. In its 61st year, the festival embraces the theme « Seorak, United in Color » while reviving historical traditions such as the Seorak Sosa ceremonial rite with modern storytelling. Highlights include mountain hiking experiences and forest concerts, a grand street parade featuring residents and cultural organizations, talent competitions, community games, busking performances, hands-on cultural experiences for all ages, and connected culinary events showcasing regional flavors. The festival transforms visitors into active participants celebrating Sokcho's living culture.
